Our Mission

The mission of the centre is two-fold: Career conversation and career connection. Career conversation is concerned with talking to or counselling the students about career options, motivating them to achieve career goals and providing general guidance. Career connection relates to providing opportunities to students to have employer engagement and network with alumni. It also includes guiding students and graduates to discover their career paths, developing employability skills, and navigating the world of work through strategic programs, training, and partnerships.

Our Services

Career Advising: Guidance & Counseling

Personalized sessions to help students align their interests, values, and strengths with suitable career paths. Helping people to choose a career after which career counselors help you to achieve the prerequisites for your desired job

Internship & Job Placement Support

The centre will host events where job seekers can meet representatives from local companies that are currently hiring. These events can be an opportunity to engage with potential employers and connecting students with internship and job opportunities via our growing network of employers.

Employability Skills Training: Resume and cover letter help

Workshops on CV writing, cover letters, job interviews, digital literacy, communication, and leadership. The importance of resumes and cover letters as part of the job application process, makes CDC very useful to help improve these documents. This will be done through hosting of workshops where experienced professional provides a selected group of people with general tips on creating a resume or cover letter and facilitates peer review exercises.

Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Training and mentorship for students interested in starting businesses or launching impactful projects.

Career Events & Fairs

Annual career fairs, employer presentations, alumni panels, and industry meetups.

Resource Hub

Many Career centres use data bases and other resources to help job seekers find employment opportunities. At CDC ADSU, career counselors can help you navigate the job search process by suggesting keywords and teaching you how to filter your results. We will create a link to access certain job or internship services, which can allow you find unique opportunities and have access to online career resources, toolkits, guides, and employment trends.

Social media guidance

At CDC ADSU, our career counselors can help you manage your social media presence and use it to improve your career potential. With professional counseling, you will learn how to showcase through your social media accounts, your skills, qualifications and career networks to potential employers.
