The Department has a livestock section at the University Teaching and Research Farm with facilities for cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits and poultry (broilers and layers) and recently  a weather enclosure and Artificial Insemination donated by L-PRES. The Department also has a feedmill at Michika. Similarly, the State Government has transferred the Poultry Production Unit at Yola to the Department.
