About the Department

The Department of Sharia Law is a distinguished academic unit committed to the study and application of Islamic legal principles. Rooted in the Qur’an, Sunnah, Ijma, and Qiyas, the department provides a solid foundation in classical Islamic jurisprudence while addressing modern-day legal challenges in Muslim societies. Our curriculum is designed to develop scholars, judges, lawyers, and legal advisers who are well-versed in both Islamic and comparative legal systems.
At the heart of our mission is the pursuit of justice, equity, and moral integrity. The department plays a critical role in training legal minds who will contribute meaningfully to the legal, social, and ethical advancement of their communities, especially in regions governed by Sharia-based legal systems.
