About the Department
Bridging Time, Connecting Nations
The Department of History was established in 2013/2014 academic session by the Senate of the Adamawa State University, Mubi. The department currently runs an undergraduate programme in History which leads to the award of B. A. (Hons) Degree in History. The department is set to commence M. A. History with different specializations with the approval of the University Senate in the 2025/2026 academic session. The number of students has continue to increase, from eleven at inception to one hundred and sixty three in the 2024/2025 academic session and has already graduated five set of students. The department is dedicated in molding graduates with the required abilities needed to excel in the 21st century society.
The Department of History and International Studies is committed to academic excellence in the study of human societies, civilizations, and global interactions. We equip students with analytical skills, historical perspective, and cross-cultural understanding necessary for navigating the complexities of today’s interconnected world.
