Welcome Message from the Head of Department
First of all, I have to thank the entire staff and students for their contributions, support and unity of oneness that built our Department and brought the driven innovation and shaped the whole of our courses to meet challenges inside and outside the university community.
Furthermore, I urge our students to strive hard for excellence, be kind to one another, and never give up on their dreams. The Department believes that the strength of our faculty of Science and University lies in our collective efforts. We encourage all stakeholders to work together to create a supportive and engaging a good learning environment for our lecturers and students.

About the Department
Precision, Logic, Discovery
The Department was established to produce B.Sc. graduates with the sole objective of providing solid ground for teaching and research in various areas of Mathematics which will be relevant to the socio-political and economic development of the community in particular, and the state in general. It is also meant to provide manpower in different areas of Mathematics and for the graduate to be self-employed.
The Department is one of the foundation Departments of the Faculty of Science, which came into existence at the inception of the University in 2002/2003 academic session. It was formally known as Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and hence offered two programmes: B.Sc Computer Science and B.Sc Mathematics. The Department had a Research Verification for Statistics programme and the National University Commission (NUC) has given go ahead to commence the programme in 2024/2025 academic session.
The Department is committed to raising a new generation of leaders in Mathematical Scenes by promoting excellence in teaching, research and community development in line with the vision and mission of the Adamawa State University, Mubi. The staff are highly motivated and dedicated to delivering best quality education to the students through strict adherence to well-structured courses. The curriculum of the the programme, lecture materials and tutorial manuals are regularly updated to make them current, robust, life-applicable and adequate to address contemporary issues on methodologies, product development, scientific and technological advances.
