Prof. Farauta Backs ADSU–MAU Alliance as Institutions Deepen Academic Cooperation

The agreement, signed at ADSU, Mubi, is aimed at deepening academic collaboration, promoting research excellence, and enhancing knowledge exchange between the two universities.
Speaking during the ceremony, Prof. Farauta described the partnership as a significant step towards advancing higher education in Adamawa State. She commended the leadership of both institutions for initiating a collaboration that would strengthen academic standards and contribute to human capital development.
The Deputy Governor emphasized the need for universities to focus on producing graduates equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. She also stressed the importance of effective supervision, innovation, and continuous expansion of academic frontiers to meet emerging societal needs.
Professor Farauta assured the institutions of the state government’s continued support in creating an enabling environment for academic growth and development, with the ultimate goal of transforming them into globally competitive universities.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Prof. Clement Augustine, and the Vice-Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, highlighted key areas covered by the agreement. These include joint postgraduate supervision, collaborative research, staff development programmes, sabbatical exchanges, and the sharing of academic and research facilities.
The partnership also extends to livestock development initiatives, particularly in the area of artificial insemination for local livestock breeds. Other components of the agreement include the introduction of medical and allied health science programmes, expansion of agricultural courses, and staff capacity building through the Centre for Peace and Security Studies.
The two vice-chancellors expressed confidence that the collaboration would foster innovation, strengthen institutional capacity, and create greater opportunities for academic and professional development.
The event concluded with the presentation of gifts by the Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Mubi, while the Deputy Governor also toured selected facilities within the university as part of her visit.
