ADSU VC RECEIVES ICRC DELEGATION ON POSSIBLE YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP COLLABORATION

The Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Mubi, Professor Augustine Clement, on Monday, 29 June 2026, received a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross, led by Lynn Bou Saba.

During the visit, Lynn Bou Saba stated that the delegation was impressed by the university’s track record in entrepreneurship and youth empowerment, particularly the successful training of over 300 children affected by armed conflict across the Northern Senatorial District of Adamawa State. The training programme, implemented by the university in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has positioned Adamawa State University as a leading institution in community-based youth development.

She explained that, in view of these achievements, the ICRC delegation was at the university to assess the activities of the institution’s Entrepreneurship Centre and explore possible areas of collaboration, particularly in entrepreneurship development, vocational skills acquisition, and youth empowerment programmes, building on the university’s proven record of impactful training.

In his remarks, Professor Augustine Clement expressed appreciation to the ICRC for considering Adamawa State University, Mubi, for the proposed partnership. He assured the delegation of the university’s commitment to community development and youth empowerment, in line with the policy of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State on youth development.

The Vice Chancellor further reaffirmed the university’s readiness to collaborate with national and international development partners in promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development initiatives that will create opportunities for young people and contribute to the socio-economic development of Adamawa State and Nigeria at large.
