The Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Mubi, Professor Augustine Clement, on Tuesday, 3rd August 2026, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Buba Marwa (Rtd.), at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

The delegation included the Registrar, the Director of Collaboration, Linkages and International Relations, and the University Liaison Officer.

The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to discuss areas of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on establishing a Research Centre (Centre for Substance Abuse Research and Education) at Adamawa State University, Mubi, through a collaborative partnership with the NDLEA.

Speaking during the meeting, Professor Augustine Clement highlighted the University’s commitment to promoting research and innovation in addressing drug-related and other contemporary societal challenges. He explained that the proposed Research Centre would serve as a platform for high-impact research, policy development, and capacity building, while also providing specialized training for NDLEA personnel and other relevant stakeholders.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the partnership would strengthen the University’s contribution to national development by generating evidence-based solutions and fostering knowledge exchange between academia and law enforcement agencies.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the NDLEA, Brigadier General Buba Marwa (Rtd.), expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and his team for the thoughtful initiative. He welcomed the proposal and reaffirmed the Agency’s readiness to work closely with Adamawa State University, Mubi, in advancing research, training, and institutional collaboration for the benefit of the nation.
