The Career Development Center of Adamawa State University, Mubi, under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Augustine Clement, on Monday 3rd August 2026, commenced a five-day workshop on Employability Skills for Final-Year Students. The workshop, themed “Preparing Final-Year Students for Career Success, Employability and Entrepreneurship in the Digital Economy,” will run from Monday, 3rd August, to Friday, 7th August, 2026.

The workshop is designed to equip final-year students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset required to thrive in today’s competitive job market and digital economy. It aims to transform students’ perspectives by encouraging them to embrace practical skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship, thereby preparing them to become visionary entrepreneurs and productive contributors to society.

In his welcome address, the Director of the Career Development Center, Adamawa State University, Mubi, Dr. Peter Sunday Zira, emphasized the importance of the workshop in preparing students for career success. He noted that achieving employability and entrepreneurial success in the digital economy requires a combination of academic excellence, digital competence, practical experience, innovation, and adaptability. According to him, students who develop these competencies will be better positioned to secure meaningful employment and establish successful businesses that contribute to economic growth.

Dr. Zira further stressed that success in today’s digital economy demands more than academic qualifications and certificates. He explained that employers increasingly seek graduates with strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, data management, artificial intelligence, online collaboration, and leadership skills.

He encouraged the students to take full advantage of the workshop by focusing on developing skills that add value to organizations and society, reminding them that results speak louder than years of experience.
